Cyanotype || Rachel Loewens

For the past several years, I have been kinda (completely) obsessed with nature printing. You won't see many examples of this work on my blog or on my Instagram feed because, well, they never turned out very well. Let's be honest, not even kinda well.

In August of 2016, my family and I journeyed to New Mexico for our first big family vacation. I planned on capturing all of the local floral through cyanotype prints but, as luck would have it, the local art supply shop did not carry the kits my hometown store did. As I longingly looked at all the flowers, grass and cactus that were foreign to me that I would not be able to capture, I resolved to take this up once spring hit in Omaha.

Here are a few pics of my process and results so far. Hope you enjoy watching me go along this learning journey!
